1. About the program
RadioBox has been developed for listening to radio stations broadcasting over the internet and for recording them.
The author of RadioBox is neither responsible for the quality of broadcasting nor for the availability of the radio stations.
2. System requirements
Access to the internet
.net framework 4.0
Note: The program doesn't work without Net framework 4.0 or later and it will display an error.
RadioBox will be delivered as it is and the author isn't at all responsible for eventual damage which might occur as a result of using this software (see the license agreement).
3. Working with the program
>
The program RadioBox doesn't need any installation.
If necessary, you should allow RadioBox through your firewall when you use it for the first time because RadioBox needs access to the internet. It doesn't work without constant internet access.
The RadioBox assistant, which helps to configure the basic settings, will also be started. The basic settings can later be found under "settings".
Although RadioBox is portable, nevertheless can be created for the prgram a desktop shortcut and integrated into the Startup.
Note: If you do not want to use RadioBox and have the program in the startup, it is necessary, before removing RadioBox from your hard drive, delete the startup shortcut.
To remove the shortcut, click to desable the menu "Run the program automatically with Windows" ("settings"/"General") and then press "Ok".
After the program or the RadioBox wizard has been started, you will hear a melody, assuming you didn't deactivate this function. This melody will be heard until the radio stations have been updated including the signals.
It is after starting the same last station to be heard, with start (adjustable).
You will find all navigation commands in the context menu and there is a keyboard shortcut for each navigation command (SHIFT+F1 - displays all keyboard shortcuts - hotkeys).
The radio stations in this program are arranged in a tree structure which is similar to windows explorer.
The tree is divided into 6 main areas:
- Favourites (this entry appears after adding the first radio station)
- Private (here only the stations that can be found in the playlist folder are available for you)
- topcharts (here are usually displayed station)
- General (here are all the stations that are available on the server. These are available for all)
- Unchecked (here are all the stations that are added by users, but not yet tested, and are available for all program users and this entry appears after adding the first radio station)
- Recordings (here are all your recordings. This entry appears after the first recording)
In the folder "playlist" you can save your playback lists with folder and subfolders under observation of the following rule:
1. Every radio station – a file which has the following end:
.asx, .m3u, .pls, .wax, .ram, .txt
2. The file name refers to the radio station.
3. In the file there should only be one functioning link. All other links will be ignored.
You can also share your playback lists with others by pressing the F12 key (default) and then only those playback lists will be sent which haven't been processed yet and which can't yet be found in general lists. This happens anonymously, without personal data.
Only stations which can be found in the "playlist" folder will be selected. During the transmission, RadioBox or the computer will remain "standing" and you will hear the melody as if you had started the program. After the transmission has finished you will hear "Thank you!" That means that the program is ready.
All your playback lists will first appear after they have been checked..
A plea to all of you who would like to use this function:
Please only press the F12 key once and only when you have either added your playback lists or renewed them. Please avoid the misuse of this function.
You can also use CTRL+U to open the links and play. So there is both the opportunity to add the station only to their own favorites or make it available for all program users.
You can view their URL with the sender and F4 to save either as m3u file or copy to clipboard. However, this feature is not free (0,1 Euro per use). Payment via PayPal, Bank or Itunes card possible
IMPORTANT! The code will be sent via email within 24 hours after receipt of payment.
You can record your favourite radio stations with this program (Ctrl+r).
All recordings will be default saved in the folder "records" where you can also find the folder "playlists" or location of your choice.
All recordings will be named by track titles and artists (assuming this information is available) as well as the time and the radio station. If many tracks are played during a recording, every track will be recorded and saved separately.
You can also listen to all the recordings directly in RadioBox.
You can also program the recording so that that it starts and ends automatically (Ctrl+Shift+r). RadioBox should be running when you do this.
In the title bar of the program, in which you usually see the name of the program, you will see a status update instead:
Time exposure shows how much time is left till the beginning and the end and for normal recordings, it shows that the recording is running.
RadioBox takes time for the receiving means 20 seconds before and after the indicated time on.
You can choose a bitrate for the recording and in the original stream format, ie without additional conversion. At the time of recording, it is possible to adjust the bit rate separately.
